Celebrating Black History Month | Shirley Chisholm

February is Black History Month and I wanted to share some inspiring African Americans throughout our history!
Shirley Chisholm became the first black woman elected to Congress. She represented New York’s 12th District from 1969-1983, and in 1972, she became the first woman to run for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination! That’s pretty outstanding! We are inspired by Shirley because equity in leadership matters.
